Milacron is looking for a Value Analysis/Value Engineering Lead (VAVE) to join our team in Batavia, OH. As a Value Analysis/Value Engineering Lead (VAVE) you will be responsible for leading engineers on generating and developing VAVE ideas by conducting analysis on design to cost, manufacture, service, and repair. Collaborate with manufacturing and other functional areas to optimize value and reduce material costs. Specializes in designing and developing procedures and strategies to enhance the value of products in an organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Value Analysis: works with the engineering and other cross functional teams to drive and deliver value to customers through features and cost reduction. Identify the lowest cost way and ensuring the highest worth to accomplish the functions of a product, process, or service
  • Value Engineering: target costing and effective cost management, cost avoidance or cost reduction before production.
  • Provide daily direction to assigned engineers globally.
  • Set priorities based on value to deliver set targets
  • Continuously review and forecast team capacity/demand and escalate any resource issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure customer requirements are clearly understood, drive closure on open requirements, and verify requirements are satisfied.
  • Estimate effort on VAVE projects and track progress.
  • Coordinate with other Engineering functions such as Electrical, Mechanical/Hydraulic, and Injection to ensure latest cost and quality improvements are implemented in a robust manner.
  • Coordinate with Operations/Materials/Sourcing to minimize waste and drive a VAVE and lean culture
  • Partner with Operations/Manufacturing to ensure quality, on-time releases.
  • Provide Management with regular feedback on performance of technical issues, project issues, processes/tools, and team member performance.
  • Delegate work assignments and ensure proper execution.
  • Identify risks, document, prioritize, mitigate, and communicate.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for the development/management of processes and people. Leads through influence.

Minimum (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience in global VAVE design and project execution
  • General knowledge of all forms of plastic processing machinery and design
  • Proven record for solving complex technical issues in a structured manner
  • Deep experience with Change Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively delegate tasks.
  • Solid performance with CREO, Windchill, and E1.
  • Relevant experience with mechanical analysis and tolerance/fit analysis.
  • Ability to identify technical risks and develop solutions
  • Strong communicator able to provide detailed information in a concise manner and be able to tailor communications to different audiences.
