Sustainability Analyst

In this newly created role, the Sustainability Anaylist will directly support Hillenbrand’s various operating companies (OpCos). They will aid in the collection, reporting and analysis of data, provide support and guidance for a range of sustainability surveys and projects, and support the OpCos in their sustainability needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Support continued improvement and standardization of processes related to sustainability across the OpCos
  • Support emissions calculations for the businesses
  • Compile internal questionnaires and information for use in Sustainability Report and other disclosure opportunities
  • Field energy + emissions questions and preparing datasets for OpCos
  • Educate and support sites as needed if additional data sets are captured
  • Support OpCo sustainability thought leadership opportunities, review/drafting support of content for OpCos
  • Research best-in-class practices to support the OpCos around key topics
  • Data collection back-up on Environment & H&S, including reading invoices and tracking down/verifying metrics
  • Assist in the development of other OpCo data analyses and written materials, including reports, internal communications, intranet site development, research summaries, and general correspondence

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position will have no direct reports


  • This is an entry level position; 0-1 years of experience in a relevant sustainability or ESG function is recommended
  • Efficiently organize, prioritize, and manage tasks across multiple businesses
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully, both verbally and through written material
  • Resourceful, with excellent time management
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to gather, interpret, and report out data
  • Advanced PC skills: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, and PowerBI is a plus


  • A bachelor’s degree in sustainability or environmental management is required.

Travel: Up to 10% travel may be required
