Position Summary

 

This position will champion action plans to address significant customer or plant quality issues.  Will lead strategic initiatives and lead quality, Kaizen and/Lean events targeting product and process improvements.   

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

 

Build relationships across all levels to understand ongoing operational issues and lead improvement and sustainability efforts. 

 

Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles throughout the organization using value stream mapping and other lean tools.

 

Participate in and conduct ongoing training in areas of quality, lean manufacturing and six sigma.

 

Provide reports on the status of project milestones and follow up of implemented improvements to ensure sustained changes.

 

Provide strategic direction, training and facilitation to achieve a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Other duties may be assigned. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities  

This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.

Employee must be able to travel <20% of the time.  
 
 
Education

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university; and four plus years related operations or engineering experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in continuous improvement.

 

Skills/Experience

Required/preferred skills:

  • Ability to compile, display and analyze data in a logical format and to use the data to develop solutions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to train/manage/lead/understand Lean and CI activities and initiatives.
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to operate in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Possess potential for advancement.
