The Hillenbrand Internship Experience

Our internships provide an opportunity for students to gain valuable hands-on experience through rewarding projects and robust summer programs. We assign challenging tasks that build on the intern’s skills and enhance their business savvy. From the start, interns are matched with a mentor, engage with executives. This strategic programming stems from the company’s key core competency, intentional talent development, which emphasizes their personal growth.

Internship Project:

• Practice general and financial accounting as well as elements of cost accounting and financial controlling.

Project Summary:

·       Work with full-time staff to train on critical accounting/finance tasks and                help develop work instructions for those tasks

·      Assist with entering journal entries into QAD

·      Support AP - Print invoices, verify PO status and contact purchasing as              needed for PO and invoice resolution

·     Support AR - Send out statements and invoices to customers for payment          status on past due invoices

·     Support Cost Accounting/Controlling – Follow-up on project status and                complete ad-hoc analyses

Required Degree/Skills/Experiences:

•       Working toward BA/BS in Accounting or Finance

•       Completed intermediate coursework in Financial and Cost                                     Accounting

•       Mechanical and electrical aptitude

•       Strong knowledge of Excel and data analysis

•       Strong communication skills via written and verbal
