Position Summary

The Sr. Buyer will be responsible for the procurement of direct and indirect materials to support production and end item deliverables to our Customers.

  • To lead and drive supply chain and logistics performance that meets or exceeds Customer and Company expectations.
  • To develop, recommend and execute regional end to end supply chain tactics that support the global direction / requirements of the business.
  • To be financially accountable for the performance of the Supply Base, including adherence to operating budgets and delivering supply chain cost results.
  • To provide input to and collaborate with the Supply Chain Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    • Developing and executing Sourcing and Supply Chain tactics to support Service Levels and Quality for our Customers while optimizing the effectiveness of the supply chain function.
    • Collaborating with Planning, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Sales to formulate and drive supply planning strategies and tactics that improve Service Levels to our Customers and reduce costs for the business.
    • Lead Buyer cultivating relationships with vendors and suppliers to assure goodwill and continued availability of material.
    • Review and analyze purchase requisitions, investigate and develop sources of supplies, issue RFQ requests, and review quotations.
    • Support engineering personnel in preparing Request for Quote (RFQ).  Provides support in analyzing the quotes and vendor responses.
    • Determine and correct problems that exist regarding sources of supply, availability of material and delivery.
    • Generate, negotiate and implement current and future supplier agreements.
    • Guide the purchasing activity of assigned commodities.
    • Monitor the quality of vendor products and deliveries and find alternate sources for vendors that are not performing within TerraSource Global requirements.
    • Effectively communicate with stakeholders and others within the company.
    • Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.

Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Supply Chain.
