SUMMARY:

  • Organize, plan, and direct work activities of maintenance, maintenance service providers, and maintenance employees.
  • Establish and own the CMMS and Preventative Maintenance Schedules
  • Champion TPM and Condition Based Maintenance Transformation
  • The Maintenance Engineer is part of the Operations Team and reports to the Plant Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Instruct and coordinate the activities of all personnel in the department to maintain top efficiency and productivity.
  • Contact and coordinate work with outside contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations.
  • Study production schedules and estimate/coordinate maintenance jobs impact on production plans.
  • Analyze and resolve maintenance problems or assist internal associates in solving maintenance and equipment reliability problems.
  • Maintain time and attendance records for Maintenance associates.
  • Requisition tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment reliability issues.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining adequate spare parts and supplies to minimize production downtime.
  • Manage the maintenance of accurate records of machines and other assets with regards to repair, drawings, diagrams and manuals and preventive maintenance program.
  • Recommend measures to improve efficiency as it relates to production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Confer with other Engineers to coordinate activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of capital projects
  • Contribute to the achievement of quality/management objectives by maintaining equipment in such a way that it allows product to be produced to customer expectations.

Health and Safety:

  • Be knowledgeable of the plant safety rules and ensure all employees perform their duties in compliance with the rules and regulations.
  • Take every reasonable precaution for the protection of the employees.
  • Hold employees accountable for their health and safety responsibilities. Consistently and fairly enforce the safety rules and safe work procedures.
  • Provide continuous on the job instruction in safe work procedures and instruct employees in the use and care of personal protective equipment.
  • Supervise and evaluate employee safety behavior and work methods.
  • Perform daily walk-through of their area to detect hazards and to ensure good housekeeping is maintained.
  • Respond to safety concerns and ensure hazards are corrected as soon as possible.
  • Perform accident investigations to identify the root cause in the required time frame and track corrective actions to completion.
  • Encourage and actively support employee involvement in the health and safety program.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical Degree (B.S.) and  two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with automation equipment (i.e., industrial robots, CNC Machines) and conventional (manual ) machines.
