Position Summary

Rotex, a world leader in industrial separation equipment, is seeking to fill a position for a Product Development Engineer in our Product Development group.  The person in this role will be responsible for the development of projects from its inception point to the final execution point.  You will be responsible for the coordination of technical and shop personnel involved in drafting, construction, assembly, and test of experimental equipment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform design calculations in support of project work
  • Perform cost analyses utilizing ERP software
  • Develop and model solutions to both manufacturing and customer issues utilizing
    2D/3D design software
  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to confirm and optimize designs
  • Oversee and coordinate prototype builds to confirm manufacturing is performed to the design intent
  • Measure prototype performance using data acquisition equipment to correlate FEA results
  • Participate in preparation of technical reports
  • Other duties may be assigned

Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in an engineering discipline; and a minimum of 1 year related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in product design/development.



  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Intermediate skills in 3D modeling, simulation and ERP software and strong skills in Microsoft Office applications
  • Some project management experience
  • High problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to work cross-culturally
  • Oral Communication - Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Participate in meetings.
  • Written Communication - Write clearly and informatively; Present numerical data effectively
  • Initiative - Volunteer readily; Undertake self-development activities; Take independent actions and calculated risks; Look for and take advantage of opportunities; Ask for and offer help when needed.
  • Mathematical Skills -Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.



Employee must be able to travel 15% of the time.
