Position Summary:


The Electro/Mechanical Field Service Engineer provides maintenance and troubleshooting services onsite as well as new machine start-up. From these visits, they will recommend parts and service solutions to improve machine uptime, maintenance and operation. When not traveling, they will perform proactive sales and service tasks including, but not limited to: troubleshoot customer issues via telephone, email and online meetings, develop spare parts quotes, order entry, customer follow-up, and production responsibilities as needed.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Perform field service on location including preventative maintenance, training, repair supervision, start-ups for customers’ equipment, and general troubleshooting. Both domestic and international travel may be required. 
  • Troubleshoot machine downtime and provide recommendations for repair or improved productivity. 
  • Recommend parts and service solutions to improve machine uptime, maintenance and operation.
  • Enter parts/sales orders, generate and follow-up parts quotes and general customer service duties. 
  • Provide written post-visit reports with a visit overview, observations, recommendations, competitive intelligence and customer feedback.
  • During field observations and customer feedback, provide Rotex Engineering with equipment design and feature recommendations.
  • Provide clear and detailed remote technical support via phone and email. Maintain a reasonable “on-call” status.
  • Assemble, test and troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, mechanical controls and other components used in Rotex products, including the set-up, inspection, testing, and installation of software on PC’s.
  • Provide support for maintaining documentation for field service, production and related issues.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to improve Company processes and products. 
  • Assist in developing, trouble shooting, and evaluating Gradex software.
  • Perform other assignments or duties appropriate to the overall responsibility of the position of Gradex Field Service Engineer. 

Job Qualifications

 

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering or related field; and 1-2 years related electrical engineering, mechanical engineering/maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a working knowledge of pneumatics and electrical controls.
  • Working knowledge of PC hardware and software installation is desired but not required.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and Outlook. Access is desired but not required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft CRM and GP is desired but not required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D is desired but not required 

 

Travel:

50-75% travel is required, both domestic and international
