The HR Business Advisor in Georgetown, Ontario, Canada partners with senior leadership to customize HR solutions and programs to achieve a global business strategy with a focus on driving talent management and development, employee engagement, and talent optimization by aligning HR & people strategies to the OpCo strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide thought leadership and strategic HR support to senior leaders on talent drivers of business strategy.
  • Drive the delivery of HR support within the OpCo by ensuring that the appropriate SLAs are defined and in place that accurately reflect the support required to deliver on strategic business and talent outcomes working collaboratively with HR Shared Service, HR Operations, and HR COE leaders.
  • Orchestrate work within the HR service delivery model to operationalize people strategies through targeted actions.
  • Participate in strategic business planning to increase OpCo leadership awareness and understanding of the people implications of the strategy.
  • Select and implement HR practices that are most appropriate for the delivery of the OpCo strategy.
  • Measure and track performance to see whether the HR investments made by the business deliver the intended value.
  • Assess impact and alignment of HR and talent programs on the OpCo.
  • Coach and guide OpCo senior leaders in demonstrating the appropriate behaviors and values to drive sustainable culture change.
  • Partner with the HR COE to develop and adapt global HR and talent programs to OpCo needs.
  • Lead and advise on talent management practices within assigned OpCo related to strategic workforce planning, senior leadership coaching & development, succession planning & pipeline development and data driven people and organizational insights workforce analytics. 
  • Lead M&A due diligence and integration efforts with the OpCo from a HR standpoint working with HR Operations and HR COE teams as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not manage any resources directly but is expected to lead, drive and orchestrate work within the HR service delivery model working collaboratively with HR Operations, HR Shared Services, and HR COE teams as this position is ultimately responsible for the level and quality of HR support provided to the OpCo.


  • Strong internal consulting skills, with ability to champion and influence change and a willingness to take risks
  • Ability to build relationships adapting approach and style to business leaders
  • Ability to think strategically, exercise judgment and independently determine and take appropriate action in providing HR solutions to the business
  • Strategic agility and the ability to influence and align senior leaders
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up; strong analytical skills together with developed business and financial
  • Solid understanding of change management and demonstrated ability to manage teams through change
  • Demonstrated to effectively use data to drive decisions and results with an appropriate sense of urgency
  • Ability to foster a collaborative environment ensuring alignment between key HR stakeholders
  • Prior HR leadership experience as a strategic HR business partner in a global diversified industrial company preferred
  • Experience working in a matrixed HR service delivery model, with a centralized HR service delivery organization

Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Business, Human Resources or related field; and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of increasing responsibility in a progressive HR environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Human Resources.


Employee must be able to travel 15-20% of the time.
