Mold Masters is looking for an Injection Molding Product Development Engineer to join our team in Georgetown, Ontario. As an Injection Molding Product Development Engineer you will be responsible for the management of assigned projects, either in development or problems evaluations.   The incumbent will be responsible to develop innovative solution in support to the Inside Sales team, creating reasonable and efficient product design/development engineering solutions. The successful incumbent will be responsive; this will include coordination of product materials, manufacturing process, testing, prototyping, quality, and project management for successful project development and release.

What you’ll do: SAMP (Solution Assessment Management Program)
•    Support Technical Sales Engineers in Tech Review orders and technical inquiries of Customers to recommend changes for suitable hot runner system
•    Involved in early stage of a high level project, participate in meetings with Customer for project kick off, and establish the exact requirements allowing for proper risks assessments.
•    use CAD to upfront establish workable concept to meet project requirements
•    Use expertise to properly initiate and drive any requirements to assess risks associated to the project and coordinate with internal resources to manage the investigation
•    Communicate with the Master Engineering group in needs for structural/flow analysis, establish the plan for research, review the outcome and initiate any additional study required to properly assess the risk associated to the application
•    Communicate with the Master Engineering group to further develop the pre-establish CAD concept, and validate the final results
•    Publish a project report establishing the opportunities to the customers for product improvements, solutions, risks associated, recommendations for project developments
•    Respond to internal technical queries;
•    Act as advocate and recommend optimum solutions to Customers;
•    Review technical feasibility of special spare parts;
•    Accountable for keeping internal and external customers informed;
•    Assists to technical review meetings, mold design reviews and mold start-ups of key programs/projects as needed;
•    Review technical data of key programs/projects, integration of hot runner system and mold design to ensure successful use of hot runner system;
•    Keep up to date with the latest technological developments and trends related to hot runners systems, CAD standards, hot half’s and related components by attending training courses and industry meetings and reading specialist literature;
•    Ensure that designers are given sufficient information for the detailing of components.
•    Communicate with IP department to evaluate the pertinence of innovative solution, and guarantee freedom to operate
CAMP (Cause Assessment Management Program)
•    Expert point of contact for troubleshooting systems, assist the master Care team
•    Evaluate the needs and initiate actions for systems changes
•    Communicate with the Master Engineering group in needs for structural/flow analysis, establish the plan for research, review the outcome and initiate any additional study required to properly assess the cause and initiate sound proposal
•    Use his expertise to properly initiate and drive any requirements to evaluate the cause for failure and coordinate with internal resources to manage the investigation
•    Travel to customers to evaluate root cause; onsite trouble shooting
•    Initiate required actions to standardize best practice though the organization, recommend standardization, implement training programs. 
Products Improvement Management Program
•    Expert point of contact for Products Improvements, assist the manufacturing team in developing method for production improvements, quality and product enhancement.
•    Use expertise to properly initiate and drive any requirements to assess risks associated to the improvement and coordinate with internal resources to manage the investigation
•    Coordinate with the MasterSolution Configurator to standardize and communicate globally 
The incumbent must be able to self-manage to coordinate work to ensure the design and implementation of existing product modification projects is completed on a timely basis, following Project Managements principles. The incumbent is responsible to solve problems related hot runner and hot runner related products based upon experience and mechanical engineering principles. The incumbent is responsible to properly assess any risks associated to any project’s developments, suggesting hot runners’ integrations. They will accomplish goals by utilizing pertinent data from customer contact, marketing direction, manufacturing capability, tooling design and outside sourcing.


Basic Requirements: 
•    BA degree in Engineering
•    A minimum of six (6) years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Experience in CAD design.
•    Background in injection molding, mold making and plastics.
Great to Haves: 
•    Previous experience as Process Engineer or Industrial Engineering or Tool and Die Maker would be an asset.  
•    Experience with SAP or an ERP is preferred
•    Previous experience with flow/thermal simulation as related to injection molding processes is strongly preferred, as well as hands-on 3DCAD package. 
•    A strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and excellent organizational skills are required. 
•    The incumbent must be capable of reading and interpreting documents such as process documentation, blueprints, operating and instructions and procedure manuals. 
•    The ability to write routine reports and to communicate effectively with employees, management, and customers, is a requirement.
