CNC Lathe Advanced

Skills/Experience:

• The CNC Lathe Advanced works independently with little supervision; the incumbent of this role must be capable of troubleshooting programs, equipment, tools and processes; ability to perform complex calculations and setups for multiple CNC Lathes, while maintaining tight tolerances and working with very small dimensions;
• Ability to communicate to Team Leader when machining times are not realistic and when deadlines will not be met.
• Must have a strong understanding of programs, tools, and paths in order to run and edit programs if required.
• Responsible for consistently machining a quality product that meets the Customer’s Quality Standards and the organization's Quality Standards.
• Must have the ability to edit programs in order to meet production deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to maintain close tolerances (5 microns) with various components is required. In addition to machining a quality product, the CNC Lathe Advanced must be capable of meeting customer delivery times. Based on skill and experience, the incumbent offers training and guidance to peers.

Education:

• The successful candidate, must have a High School Diploma, with a minimum of three (3) year experience and/or training in a precision machining environment. Completion of a General Machinist Apprenticeship would be helpful, but not required. The incumbent has experience machining components to tight tolerances (5 microns) and can work independently.
