Skills/Experience:

 

  • 8+ years' experience managing the Ocean & Air category, ideally for a large multi-national corporation, with a focus on rate and capacity options, shipping lanes, regulatory and compliance requirements, and air freight options (e.g. cargo, charter or freight)
  • Develop logistics and business processes to continuously evaluate supplier rates, services and performance.
  • Manage 3rd party service providers’ commercial and contractual agreements delivering commercial solutions, which ensure seamless delivery to business constituents.   
  • Act as the subject matter expert on external Ocean and Air market understanding industry and market trends and formulating strategies for the category.
  • Exemplary negotiation skills in a robust and large corporate procurement environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships across multiple organizations and with vendors at the highest levels.
  • Project management experience required with ability to multi-task with high volume throughput.
  • Six-Sigma Greenbelt / Black Belt desired.

Education:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or other related discipline
  • MBA in Supply Chain or Operations preferred
