Position Summary:


The Welder is responsible for welding materials of standard thickness where finished weld is not critically stressed. Welding of fabricated parts to print and specifications. Prepare steel, cast iron, aluminum, and stainless-steel material and parts for weld.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Understand and support Company philosophies, goals and directions including ISO 9001 and 14001 policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress / emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.
  • Recommend improvements for area product and processes.                                                                                       
  • Work safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.                                                                                       
  • Produce and maintain consistent quality of work.                                                                                             
  • Dress and grind parts after welding.                                                                                                                        
  • Prepare steel parts for arc, gas or mig welding.                                                                                  
  • Weld materials of limited thickness where finished weld is not critically stressed.                                                                              
  • Develop working knowledge of types and sizes of welding rods and use.                                                                
  • Practice good communications.                                                                                
  • Interact professionally with customers in the plant.
  • Follow the department / area standards in areas of housekeeping, attendance and teamwork.                                   
  • Job report correctly and in a timely manner.       



Skills/Experience:
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education:
  • High school education or relevant technical school training
