The Machine Installation Technician is responsible for has the role of accompanying the rigging crew on all 2 PC or larger manufactured machine installations.   This role ensures the installation is re-assembled correct to Milacron factory specs, validating the customer warranty at the time of install and drastically reducing warranty cost to Milacron due to improper installation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Prior to ship the MIT reviews the machine state it leaves in.

  • Reviews the option content on the OSS and prepares the needed tooling for re assembly in the field. 

  • Travels to the Machine Location to oversee the loading and unloading of the machine to ensure no damage occurs during the Rigging.  

  • Works with the riggers in the field to ensure proper installation of major components including the leveling of the machine. 

  • Makes all Hydraulic and Electric Inner connects to the machine (any item that was removed at Milacron for shipping purposes). 

  • Reviews the completed installation report with the customer and the rigging company and all sign off to completion.      

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

 

Education/Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to work self-directed without much supervision.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent. Technical degree or certification preferred.

  • 1 year of experience with machine assembly or mechanical experience.

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

  • Ability to read mechanical prints and in some cases electrical schematics.  

  • Ability to read and interpret precision tooling such as levels and micrometers.  

  • Must have good communication skills with the customers and the riggers.

  • Ability to work overtime as it is required.

Travel: Must be willing to travel 50-75%. Ability to travel and work off site for up to 2 weeks at a time.
