As a Total Rewards Business Advisor with Hillenbrand, you will be responsible to define programs and policies related to benefits, incentives, compensation, global mobility, retirement and pension, employee wellness, as well as strategically manage salary, pay structures and job leveling to ensure market competitiveness based on benchmarking and trends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop and continually advance global compensation and benefits strategies and programs to align with business strategy and ensure the right mix and offerings are available to attract and retain a high caliber workforce globally.
  • Develop and communicate the organization’s total rewards strategy as it relates to base salary, variable pay, equity, benefits, work/life components, recognition, and incentives consistent with Hillenbrand’s compensation and benefits philosophies.
  • Lead benchmarking activities across all areas of total rewards to elevate the understanding of the organization’s total rewards competitiveness globally and evolve it over time to meet the changing landscape of total rewards, including executive compensation.
  • Ensure integration and alignment between compensation, benefits, and other total rewards programs as well as integration and alignment with other HR programs (e.g. performance development).
  • Establish global job architecture including job evaluation framework, job structures and levels.
  • Partner with the SVP & CHRO to design and deliver competitive executive compensation strategies, programs, and plans that are performance driven, market competitive, appropriately leveraged, and accurately administered.
  • Ensure adequate estimates, forecasts, and calculation of expenditures/value in compensation, benefits, and equity programs for budget planning and to enable effective decision making.
  • Design and develop the global mobility strategy, program and policies for global assignments and relocations and review periodically to identify process improvements to address challenges, process gaps, internal international transfers, and global policy updates.
  • Work with HR Business Advisors to develop employee reward programs tailored to the OpCo’s unique objectives and culture.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and accurately interpret, counsel, communicate, and educate HR Business Advisors, HR Shared Services, and HR Operations teams as well as senior leaders and managers on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretations, and job evaluations.
  • Develop comprehensive, effective communications strategies to share Total Rewards programs with all employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will manage a team of experienced practitioners. This position will also manage various vendor and consultant engagements as required.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in human resources, business, or related field; and a minimum of ten (10) years related human resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in human resources, learning and development, and/or talent management.
 

Skills/Experience:

  • Experience working with leaders and teams in a global, diversified industrial company.
  • Experience leading and executing total rewards work in a global organization.
  • Experience with plan design (compensation, incentives, benefits), market analysis, job/salary structure build and management, mergers and acquisitions integration planning, project management, vendor management, budget analysis and modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and management.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments and prioritize demands in a high energy, fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective business cases for change and effective communications for successful implementation of total rewards processes, tools, and systems.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in a variety of change management principles, practices, processes and techniques.
  • Strategic capability with equal capability to see and manage the details.
  • Strong client-service and results orientation.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills and be a team player with the ability to forge consultative relationships both within and outside the HR team.

Travel:

Employee must be able to travel 10-15% of the time.
