The Hillenbrand Internship Experience

Our internships provide an opportunity for students to gain valuable hands-on experience through rewarding projects and robust summer programs. We assign challenging tasks that build on the intern’s skills and enhance their business savvy. From the start, interns are matched with a mentor, engage with executives. This strategic programming stems from the company’s key core competency, intentional talent development, which emphasizes their personal growth.


Internship Project:

  • Visual and formatting redesign of policies, procedures and template documents
  • Assist in creating global communications pieces on ethics and compliance topics
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a centralized location for commonly used legal forms.  Minor editing of forms. main deliverable would be.
  • Assist in creating a contract management system
  • Analysis of contracts for imputing data in the system
  • Substantive review of contract requirements

Required Degree/Skills/Experience:

  • Entering their 2nd year of law school (expected JD - May 2021);
  • Demonstrated academic achievement at the law school level;
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently or collaboratively on a team.
  • Continued willingness and desire to learn and be flexible with an evolving workload and working on a broad variety of legal matters.
  • Strong organizational skills where you’ve managed multiple and changing priorities with accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills showing collaboration with others and building effective relationships.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to following policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.


 Preferred Degree/Skills/Experience

  • Law student preferred for portions of the projects
  • SharePoint experience
