Position Summary:

This Lean Champion position for Hillenbrand out of Batesville, IN will partner with Hillenbrand Corporate Business Leadership or functional leader to develop and execute a Lean roadmap for key corporate business functions.  It will lead the overall continuous improvement efforts, utilizing Kaizen, Daily Management and Strategy Deployment principles to improve processes and procedures for Finance, HR, IT, Legal, and Procurement functions.  Training and coaching managers and associates will also be a key part of this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Partner with the OpCo/Platform Lean Lead and the facility or functional leader to develop and execute a Kaizen roadmap and identify key metrics (KPI’s and TTI’s)
  • Lead the site/function’s Lean transformation with a focus on improvements in this priority order: Safety, Quality, Service & Delivery and Cost
  • Schedule, lead and facilitate Kaizen Events and other CI projects aligned with the Kaizen roadmap, Daily Management, and Strategy Deployment
  • Train and coach managers and employees in the daily use and implementation of Lean principles
  • Ensure consistent application of operating and Lean practices, tools and templates (ie: Standard Work, Job Instruction, Daily Management, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Road mapping, SMED, TPM, etc.)
  • Audit, monitor and sustain the health of the Lean culture by utilizing a scoring system, gap analysis, and countermeasures
  • Track the status of all Lean activities, cost savings, training, certifications and events
  • Assist organization-wide kaizen efforts as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned
Skills/Experience:


Required:


Preferred:


  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification along with commensurate business (Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Procurement)

  • Lean/CI/OPEX certification (IASC or ASQ preferred)


Education:


Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Engineering, Business Management or comparable field


Travel:
Must be willing to travel 50% of the time
