Position Summary:

Hillenbrand is looking for a Jr Procurement Category Manager to provide support as part of global GSM team. The individual should have 1 -2 years’ experience in indirect procurement with the ability to gather and analyze data and collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Collect and analyze the key drivers, market dynamics and trends, and areas of innovation in consultation with relevant functions to provide solid market information for decision making
  • Gather and analyze data, as well as provide recommendations for all but the most complex categories and analyses
  • Collaboratively manage projects or lead sub-tasks of projects; support projects by gathering data, administering processes, and/or working with internal/external clients
  • May collaborate on or lead indirect procurement projects with guidance of management or a more senior role.
  • Consults and collaborates on indirect procurement category management.
  • May have individual responsibility for category management under the guidance of management or a more senior role. 
  • Regularly works independently but receives periodic guidance and general direction from management or more senior roles. 
  • Responsible for the deployment of indirect procurement policies

Skills/Experience:

 

  • 1- 2 years’ experience in indirect procurement with depth in a few categories
  • Experience with data and analysis
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently with internal partners and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with strategic partnerships across the organization and with vendors
  • Entry to intermediate Project management experience required with ability to multi-task with high volume throughput.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficient with Indirect Procurement systems

 

Education:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or other related discipline
