Position Summary

The Health & Wellness Program Manager will partner with Health & Welfare Benefits Manager on the planning, design, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of comprehensive health promotion programs. Analyzes participant healthcare data and trends to lead and support Health & Wellness initiatives/programs. Liaison for Health & Wellness Centers and vendor partnerships. Monitors legal compliance for programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordination, implementation and completion of all wellness projects and initiatives on time within budget and within scope

• Continuous management of all wellness projects and initiatives, including preparing reports for upper management regarding status of projects

• Lead projects with a sense of urgency by meeting deadlines while juggling multiple projects/tasks

• Partner with data analytics vendor to become Subject Matter Expert; analyze data to customize targeted programs based upon population health

• Create meaningful goals and metrics to measure program results to quantify impact and measure return on investment (ROI), as well as root cause analysis when programs are not performing as expected

• Develop, coordinate, manage, and maintain total wellbeing programs to reduce health risk, medical cost, and encourage healthy lifestyles

• Develops communications, tools, marketing materials, etc. for each program

• Lead HR Business Partners and location wellness coordinators to drive health & wellness initiatives and programs at the local level (flu shot clinics, wellness competitions, etc.)

• Review of budget performance and active participant in budget planning process

• Create and maintain standard operating procedures for areas of responsibility

• Works under limited supervision. Uses independent judgment to make business decisions

• Other duties as assigned


Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Business or Health-related field; and a minimum of 10 years related Health Services experience with management or consulting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in health and wellness administration.


• Demonstrated expert project management and project leadership skills

• Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities

• Demonstrated expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Displays professionalism when dealing with employees, their families and outside vendors

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization, including group presentations

• Strong conceptual, strategic, and visionary skills

• Expert experience in preparing reports and related statistical data

• Knowledge of industry best-practices in wellness and quality management principles and processes

• Knowledge of health plans administration

• Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations surrounding wellness programs

• Experience in health promotion, fitness and / or wellness programs

• Ability to work in fast pace environment and manage numerous projects simultaneously

• Strong attention to detail

• Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration federal policy and law, Department of Transportation Driver and Safety Sensitive Position Compliance, TITLE 49, PART 40, etc.) would be helpful but not required


Employee must be able to travel 10 % of the time.
