Position Summary:

The Finance Leadership Development Program is intended to develop talented, high potential leaders within our Finance function. The 30-month program allows for six-month to one-year rotations at both Corporate and business levels within the areas of Financial Planning & Analysis, Operations Finance, Accounting and Internal Audit.  Comprehensive training and coaching will be offered in all rotations. The assignments will include one international rotation with the other three in North America.  Upon completion of the program, the Rotational Associate will have the opportunity to assume a role within our Finance function domestically.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Note: Specific rotations are subject to change as Hillenbrand continues to grow and maintains a focus on continually improving the rotational program to develop future Finance leaders.

Internal Auditor Rotation

  • Coordinate with business line management regarding upcoming audits and SOX testing;
  • Participate in and perform various aspects of the audit and SOX testing, to include planning, kick-off, testing, wrap-up, and issue and corrective action development;
  • Partner with and build strong working relationships with business line management;
  • Provide regular updates to Audit Manager on progress of audits;
  • Communicate regularly with the controller’s group (including CFO), business unit management and finance leadership on the status and results of audits;
  • Participate in development of internal audit policy and procedure documentation;
  • Participate in administrative matters and special projects as assigned by the Director or Manager of Internal Audit;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Plant Financial Analyst Rotation

  • Assist in the month end close including the preparation of account reconciliations, analysis of P&L fluctuations, and preparation of monthly financial statements;
  • Identify cost improvement opportunities based on review and analysis of plant activity data. Implement improvements that capture the opportunities identified;
  • Complete internal control audits including account reconciliations, finished goods audits, payroll reconciliations, open PO reports, and other internal control audits as assigned;
  • Complete plant cost and management metrics and interact with plant management to interpret and analyze the reports;
  • Complete Bill of Material analyses, product cost analyses and other cost accounting duties as assigned;
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting processes;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Rotation

  • Support both Corporate and business FP&A processes such as budgeting and forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis;
  • Prepare and analyze various financial reports;
  • Assist with annual and quarterly forecasts;
  • Prepare operational finance analyses to support global Procurement and Operations teams;
  • Leverage technology, including business intelligence tools, to automate reporting and gain actionable insights;
  • Implement best practices that stream-line and standardize processes;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Financial Analyst Rotation

  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and cost accounting reporting;
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting and medium-term planning for individual profit centers and service areas;
  • Prepare target vs. actual comparison and variance analyses;
  • Evaluate processes to implement operational efficiencies and optimize performance;
  • Contribute to commercial-focused projects and initiatives;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Skills/Experience:

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher with proven leadership skills either in school or professional experience required;
  • Proven capability to excel in a fast-paced environment required;
  • High level of critical thinking required;
  • Strong quantitative skills;
  • Ability to think strategically, with a global mindset;
  • Geographic mobility required.

Education:

Undergraduate degree from a college or university in Finance or Accounting.

Travel:

Rotational associate must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
