The Manufacturing Process Engineer/CI Associate will be responsible to develop and maintain detailed process routings, time standards, and process improvement and cost reduction projects as assigned. The Manufacturing Process Engineer/CI Associate will work closely with the direct manufacturing shop floor team.  This position requires working in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.

This position requires the ability to read instructions and follow these instructions with precision to produce outputs.

What you will be doing:

  • Educate and instruct plant personnel in recommended continuous improvement activities.
  • Participate on capital equipment teams to recommend, purchase, install and implement machine tools into production.
  • Monitor progress on projects, resolves issues and expedites completion as required to support internal schedules.
  • Create and maintain detailed manufacturing process routings in an ERP system.
  • Set process time standards and product cost.
  • Lead and/or participates in process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop data collection and analysis for assigned products.
  • Function as the liaison between Manufacturing Operations and the development teams.
  • Perform in-process audits in manufacturing operations.
  • Work with Quality and other departments as required developing quality plans for all assigned products.
  • Other duties, assignments or projects as needed and assigned.
  • Educate and instruct plant personnel in recommended process improvement activities.
  • Consult with plant management and personnel on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields.
  • Discuss plant evaluation with plant management to make appropriate recommendations and set timetable for improvement and corrections.
  • Function as an information source for other departments
  • Accept responsibility of training and preparing new employees for understanding of processes and process improvements.
  • Update and improve processes/documentation to align with ISO 9001:2015 standard
  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and operate machinery in a safe manner.
  • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary including weekends and holidays if deemed necessary by the company
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • No management responsibilities.

Your knowledge and skills should include:

  • Experience working with mold shop machinery/processes ( CNC, Lathes, Drills, Mills, Grinders, Heat Treat, etc.).
  • Experience working with an ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience working with leading continuous improvement projects.
  • Strong experience with root cause quality issues that surface in a product manufacturing operation.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced product-manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of CAD/CAM, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Technical knowledge.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Good problem-solving ability.
  • Good collaboration skills
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Good decision-making abilities.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must support the mission and purpose of the company and be committed to professional and personal growth.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field or combination of Education and related experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role in the metal machining industry.
