Position Summary:

The Senior Manager FP&A plays a critical role in the budgeting and forecasting process at Coperion.  This role will assist in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of the budget and forecast. The successful incumbent will work to understand the business and its financial needs.  This individual will also be heavily involved in establishing financial guidance for the fiscal year, periodically updating Coperion’s progress against that guidance, including appropriate communication to senior management, and very involved in process improvements in budgeting and forecasting.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively and effectively partner with various stakeholders across the enterprise

  • Analyze financial information to determine present and future financial performance

  • Identify trends and recommend improvements accordingly

  • Evaluate profit plans, operating records, and financial statements

  • Prepare various presentations for senior management and the Executive Management Team

  • Analyze actual performance, trends, competitive benchmarking, and modeling to develop insights into the company performance

  • Create new reporting and streamline existing reporting processes

  • Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.

  • Participate in lean projects to improve systems and processes.

  • Complete ad hoc reports or analysis in support of M&A activities, Coperion Executive Committee and special projects.

  • Prepare various materials for the Board of Directors

  • Partner with stakeholders and assisting in developing, communication and achievement of an operating plan

  • Other duties may be assigned

   Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will directly manage four associates.


Education

Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in accounting or finance; and a minimum of 10 years related experience in a global company with significant international experience in various aspects of finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

MBA or CPA preferred.


Skills/Experience

  • 10 years of progressive experience across business finance roles,
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills including ability to implement strategic plans required
  • Demonstrated experience with Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) projects that involved financial due diligence, synergy tracking and/or post-merger integration preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as experience interacting with executive management and other key constituents required
  • Excellent financial modeling, project management and strategic thinking skills required
  • Strong work ethic and ability to foster working relationships throughout the organization at all levels required
  • Industrial manufacturing experience preferred
  • Expert Microsoft Office skills and Hyperion (HFM) experience strongly preferred:
  • Demonstrated ability to understand lean business principles and apply them in the back office setting

Travel

Employee must be able to travel 10% of the time.
