Skills/Experience:

  • Interpersonal skills required courtesy, tact and cooperation; necessary to communicate and/or work with customers, vendors, co-workers and visitors

  • Must be detail oriented

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

  • Mechanically able to use small power and hand tools

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Familiar with and able to interpret packing slips

  • Able to accurately input information into the computer

  • Ability to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database

  • Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements

  • Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment

  • Forklift truck operator experience 

Required Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma
  • 1-3 years related shipping/receiving experience
  • Working knowledge of various shop related components and processes

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities may include the employee’s ability to see near and far distances. The employee must wear necessary safety equipment when required.
