We are looking for a Shipping/Receiving Clerk in Salina, KS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Responsible for movement of products to other plants and to outside vendors with minimal supervision.  Receiving and checking in goods with the expectation of producing quality products.

  • Perform shipping and receiving duties by preparing and securing products and parts in shipping boxes/crates, to ensure proper protection from damage in transit
  • Organize casting warehouse, pull parts for the production ships as needed
  • Inventory management, perform cycle counts as assigned
  • Check goods received against packing slip or bill of lading. Mark material by type, size and quantity and deliver them to storage of manufacturing areas
  • Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
  • Process purchase orders when materials are received
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
  • Required to make pick-ups and deliveries to our suppliers for parts and raw materials
  • Perform cycle counts and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors
  • Load and unload trucks and flatbeds
  • Assist vendors with safety & care (visually inspect goods for damage and process damage reports)
  • Assist in other areas of production (as needed)

Skills/Experience:

  • Interpersonal skills required courtesy, tact and cooperation; necessary to communicate and/or work with customers, vendors, co-workers and visitors

  • Must be detail oriented

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

  • Mechanically able to use small power and hand tools

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Familiar with and able to interpret packing slips

  • Able to accurately input information into the computer

  • Ability to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database

  • Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements

  • Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment

  • Forklift truck operator experience 

Required Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma
  • 1-3 years related shipping/receiving experience
  • Working knowledge of various shop related components and processes

Specific vision abilities may include the employee’s ability to see near and far distances. The employee must wear necessary safety equipment when required.
