Coperion is looking for a Project Procurement Specialist to join our team in Salina, Kansas. As a Project Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting projects by purchasing commodities assigned, obtaining the correct quality and price, and ensuring the product is made to specification and expedite delivery to correct date.

What you’ll do:
•    Work as part of a purchasing team to deliver centralized service in a dynamic industry. Purchase assigned commodities from approved and qualified suppliers in sufficient lead time and recommend cost savings when possible. Services include PO creation, order follow up, sourcing support, price checks, diagnosing and troubleshooting problem situations. Resolves problems that arise in relation to delivery dates, quality specifications, quantity and cost of purchased goods or services
•    Project Management for both Turn-key and new machine projects
•    Lead in purchasing and negotiating equipment needed for installation at customer
•    Directly involved with RFQ with contractors/construction companies for installation and supply of equipment
•    Work directly with vendors to ensure approval of drawings to verify technical detail prior to fabrication.
•    Negotiate delivery dates, terms, and conditions and/or modifications to subcontracts, to meet changing customer needs
•    Review item masters, bills, and routings in ERP system, and work to reconcile differences with Engineering
•    Coordinate the closing of project POs once delivered at site (provide POD's and other documentation to have PO received, and closed for payment of invoice)
•    Manage tax exemption certificates for vendors and contractors
•    Other duties may be assigned

Basic Requirements:
•    Associates Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or similar field
•    Minimum of five (5) years of procurement experience

Great to Haves:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or similar field
•    Minimum of seven (7) years of procurement experience
•    Ability to gather, relate, and summarize information into logical conclusions
•    Strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal customers and suppliers
•    Ability to perform data entry and retrieval on various business systems and internet
•    Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
•    Ability to use business systems software (QAD) and manage updates including POs; logistic/expediting dates and other critical information fields
