Responsible for project management of material handling projects from initial inquiry and conception through successful operation at the customers facility. Provide technical planning, sizing, selection, direction, and coordination of material handling systems.  Oversee equipment and site installation design.  

Interface with sales department, sales reps, vendors and customers to develop systems equipment proposals and secure systems projects

Develop cost estimates, written proposals, and flow diagram/stack-up drawings in accordance with Systems guidelines

Responsible for the performance and financial success of each project

Provide technical and functional direction for equipment proposals and projects to make sure they match our customers needs with compatible technical, functional and operational interests of our company

Review design criteria and application information.  Confer with the Engineering Manager or Coordinator to resolve application problems and sales aspects of assigned proposals

Provide field survey and presentation of proposals for prospective customers.
Direct, review and coordinate system designers, drafters, vendors and others to insure proper engineering, application, design, and cost control for the order

Oversee and insure job progress relevant to schedules through engineering, production, start-up, customer acceptance and final payment

Assist in or perform field start-up and performance problem solving of systems and equipment

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Coperion K-Tron products, policies and goals

Travel as required to customer offices and manufacturing sites

Work on product improvement and new product development projects 


Engineering degree (BSME, BSEE, BSChE, or BSCE), Milling Science, or similar
2 - 7 years experience with material handling applications


Understand dry bulk solid material properties such as flowability and filtration 
Familiar with related equipment and systems (feeders, pneumatic & mechanical conveyors, flow aids, processing equipment, mixing & blending, unloading and loading devices, bulk storage, size reduction, dust collection, etc.)
Understand pneumatic conveying techniques and methods of sizing blowers and fans
Familiar with customers processes such as baking, milling, compounding, extrusion, resin and chemical production, mixing, and weighing
Working knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and limitations including welding practices and surface finishes
Knowledge of process control fundamentals
Ability to understand and apply national design and safety codes
Interpersonal skills requiring courtesy, tact and cooperation necessary to communicate and work with coworkers, customers, manufacturers representatives, vendors, callers and visitors.
Must be able to concentrate and pay close attention to detail, and have good skills in planning, coordinating, and organizing.
Verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual Spanish speaking is preferred.

Ability to make technical presentations to all levels of customer management/technical staff

 Maintain neat, orderly, and hazard free work area
 Lift no more than 75 lbs
 Understand and observe all customer safety rules when on customer sites
