Develop, implement and maintain a plan to grow Coperion business in the given territory year on year. The plan needs to cater for the specific needs of each BU within the Coperion ES Division. Strategies will be agreed with Sales and BU management. Exercise functional responsibility for activities of sales reps servicing assigned territory including recommending retention or termination and replacement as necessary.

 

Maintain Territory Development Plan (TDP) for each representative containing the following information (minimal):  Rep Line Sheet, Salesmen history in organization, description of salesmen territory and key accounts, competitive representatives in region and line cards, target competitive accounts

 

Coordinate all activity within assigned territory, from first inquiry through after-sale service, including; customer inquiries and correspondence (telephone and written), preparation and pricing of quotations, processing orders, problem resolution by working with sales intermediaries or directly with customers to expand equipment sales and systems and to provide service to customers, with minimal supervision

 
Responsibilities
  • Coach, mentor and manage representative’s personnel active in Coperion sales to attain established goals
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective customers
  • Confer with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support
  • Help clients solve problems with installed equipment
  • Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, showing how changes will lower costs or increase production
  • Forecast sales volume and manage all activities of sales teams
  • Process all systems, components and spare parts orders and change orders including checking for correct pricing, reviewing all information while resolving any discrepancies and verifying orders are entered correct               
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Coperion products, policies and goals
  • Conduct a continuing program of self-improvement knowledge relative to these duties, advancements and related areas.

  • Participate in trade shows and sales seminars for reps and customers
  • Participate in traveling truck stop shows when needed
  • Assist in collection of past due accounts
  • Closely monitor status of outstanding quotations and develop/implement strategy for closing the order
  • Ensure timely follow-up on all leads that are generated for respective territories
  • Manage and be fully responsible for demo equipment used in assigned territory
  • Travel as needed, approximately 50-75%, the envisaged role is to be an active field dominated role accompanying the assigned reps in their daily activities and undertaking direct sales when required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Marketing from an accredited institution or equivalent
  • Minimum three years’ experience in sales, application sales for engineering of a highly technical product.  Experience in selling to customers in the Plastics, Food, Pharmaceutical, Chemical or Mineral industries is a plus.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Maintain 5S office and continuous improvement lean initiatives Knowledge of pneumatic conveying and material handling
  • Knowledge of selling process; marketing techniques, process control, weighing, bulk materials handling, plastics, food, chemical process industries
  • Must have excellent professional verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Must be skilled in coordinating and organizing with attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Knowledge of AS 400, MAPICS, CRM, Compass, 360 View, Portal and GSS a plus
  • Spanish Speaking is a Plus
  • Bulk powder material handling, process controls and weighing background preferred
  • Ensure proper safety protocol is maintained when visiting customer sites.
