This is for a Fabricator/Laser Operator in Salina, KS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Assist in the development and maintenance of equipment and processes for the manufacturing of products.  Operate laser work center safely and efficiently.

  • Provide programming for Laser CNC equipment, in conjunction with routing for new products
  • Schedule laser work to coincide with production timelines

  • Pull, organize, and sort sheet metal to be efficiently processed on the laser

  • Match laser cut parts to work orders and send to the next production location

  • Support shops with programming needs and problem-solving assistance

  • Lead efforts in continuous improvement in manufacturing methods

  • Write-up and maintain shop routings for standard parts


  • Good verbal communication skills in person as well as by telephone.
  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have good analytical skills necessary to evaluate and organize workloads and schedules. The ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Must be able to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
  • Must have good coordinating, organizing, and scheduling skills
  • Must have the knowledge in the use of computer and other standard office equipement
  • Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment; forklift, overhead hoist, jib crane
  • Must be able to read and write in English and read blueprints
  • Must have the mechanical ability to use hand and powered tools and have knowledge in the use of scales, calipers, and gauges to test and check mechanically and for appearance quality
  • Knowledge at the level normally acquired in two years of college or technical training in this field or equivalent experience

  • A background in tool design and 3D modeling is a plus

  • Knowledge of shop equipment, tools and facilities
  • Knowledge at the level normally acquired in 4 years of high school, with courses in Industrial Arts and basic computer skills experience or equivalent classroom courses preferred
