The Hillenbrand Internship Experience -
Our week internships provide an opportunity for students to gain valuable hands-on experience through rewarding projects and robust summer programs. We assign challenging tasks that build on the intern’s skills and enhance their business savvy. From the start, interns are matched with a mentor, engage with executives. This strategic programming stems from the company’s key core competency, intentional talent development, which emphasizes their personal growth.

Internship Project -
The Engineering Intern will have a project of maintaining engineering standards product drawings
Reviewing engineering prints and learn to make the appropriate revisions

Project Summary -
The Engineering Development intern’s project(s) will update 3D and 2D drawings.

Project Deliverables -
Develop a working knowledge of Engineering practices, disciplines and functions
Demonstrate knowledge of a document management system, appropriate use of CAD drafting software programs
Exposure to drafting standards

Key Learning/Intentional Development -
Provide the Intern experience with hands on exposure with working software packages used in the industry, as well as an understanding of the details required on each engineering print to ensure the part designed is producible.

Required Degree/Skills/Experiences -

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Technical Drafting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Preferred Degree/Skills/Experiences:

Basic knowledge of field -

  • Experience with VBA, AutoCAD and 3D Modeling preferred
  • Openness and desire to an exceptional internship experience
