CNC Machinist II - CNC Grinder

Coperion is looking for a CNC Machinist II to join our team in Wytheville, Virginia. As a CNC Machinist II you will be responsible for operating the manual and CNC machinery and have the ability to perform specific tasks with minimal supervision and produce quality product within specification and maintain output, and scheduled production.

What you’ll do:

  • Operate the manual and/or CNC machinery on production basis (i.e., basic editing of programs and adjusting tool offsets).
  • Operate DCN software.
  • Able to perform tool work if needed.
  • Load, unload, and set up of various CNC equipment.
  • Clean and maintain machines periodically along with manufacturing area.
  • Lift weights of up to 50#s.
  • Perform quality control checks using gauges and instrumentation.
  • De-burring and sandblasting of all parts needed.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager
  • Do all related work that is necessary in the manufacturing area.  Perform other related tasks as assigned by proper authority.

  • Manual Operators: Read instrumentation.

Basic Requirements:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma
    • Mechanical trade school diploma helpful
    • At least 2 years preferred as CNC Machinist and/or
    • Associate Degree preferred (Machine Tool Technician)
  • Experience/Skillset:
    • Correctly read required measuring devices.
    • Able to read necessary blueprints
