Position Summary:

Batesville Casket is looking to hire a Supervisor, Credit & Collections, located in Batesville, IN, that will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of credit policies and procedures across the organization from order approval through the successful resolution of customer accounts receivable.  This position involves interaction with external and internal customers and successful handling of customer and field sales inquiries and complaints across the order process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

Credit and Collection:

Manages all aspects of credit and collection systems and processes to limit risk including but not limited to:

  • Financial analysis of customer businesses for credit approval ranging in magnitude based upon current business size and economics. 
  • Assists in design and implementation of accounts receivable systems and policies to improve results and raise productivity.
  • Communicates with internal and external customers at all levels to understand opportunities, issues and objectives.
  • Management of third-party collection relationships and processes to drive standardization and improvements.
 
Technical

Manages technical aspects associated with credit and accounts receivable processes, including but not limited to:

  • Manages databases required for credit and accounts receivable and has some knowledge of the order management and billing systems.
 

Project Management:

Manages recurring and special projects as necessary, including but not limited to:

  • Prepares appropriate project plans, schedules, requirements, tasks, assignments and resources.
  • Reports project milestones and statue to management.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
 
 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 


Skills/Experience:

Required Skills/Experience

  • Basic experience leading a team (direct or indirect)
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
 

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Intermediate experience managing a credit/collections team
  • Basic experience with policy/process development
  • Basic experience with an ERP or Accounting system (e.g. JDEdwards)
  • Basic experience with reporting tools (e.g. Cognos)
 
Education:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent from a college or university in Accounting or related field; and a minimum of 5 years related credit/collections experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in credit/collections.

 
Travel:

Employee must be able to travel 10% of the time.
