Batesville is looking for a Lean Engineer to join our team in Manchester, TN. This position will champion action plans to address significant customer or plant quality issues. The Lean Engineer will lead strategic initiatives and lead quality, Kaizen and/Lean events targeting product and process improvements.

What you’ll do:
•    Build relationships across all levels to understand ongoing operational issues and lead improvement and sustainability efforts. 
•    Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles throughout the organization using value stream mapping and other lean tools. 
•    Participate in and conduct ongoing training in areas of quality, lean manufacturing and six sigma. 
•    Provide reports on the status of project milestones and follow up of implemented improvements to ensure sustained changes. 
•    Provide strategic direction, training and facilitation to achieve a culture of continuous improvement. 
•    Other duties may be assigned. 


Travel:
•    Employee must be able to travel 10% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Engineering, Business Management, or related field
•    Minimum of 2 years related Lean experience and/or training; with an emphasis on Lean or operational excellence
•    Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience with an emphasis on leading teams of various sizes
•    Demonstrated ability to teach and coach 
•    Strong leadership and change agent skills
•    Business acumen with experience relating projects to growth and profitability
•    Excellent team facilitation skills
•    Ability to compile, display and analyze data in a logical format and to use the data to develop solutions
•    Solid organizational skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

 

Preferred
•    Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Operational Excellence Principles, 5S, CI, SMED, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Standard Work, 3P, Poke Yoke, etc.
•    Manufacturing experience 
•    Lean Certification 
•    Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. 
•    Ability to train/manage/lead/understand Lean and CI activities and initiatives. 


Nice to haves/Soft Skills: 
•    Demonstrated expert lean manufacturing knowledge and experience required
•    CQE Certification 
•    Six Sigma experience or certification
•    Advanced degree related to business or project management
