The Financial Analyst I prepares periodic financial reports, statements, account reconciliation, analyses, forecasts and budgets and performs detailed analysis of costs to provide information to various levels of management while using generally accepted accounting principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Assists in the month end close including the preparation of account reconciliations, the analysis of P&L fluctuations, and the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Identifies cost improvement opportunities based on the review and analysis of plant activity data. Implement improvements that capture the opportunities identified.
- Completes internal control audits including account reconciliations, finished goods audits, payroll reconciliations, open purchase order reports, and other internal control audits as assigned.
- Completes plant cost and management metrics and interacts with plant management in interpreting and analyzing the reports.
- Completes Bill of Material analyses, product cost analyses and other cost accounting duties as assigned.
- Assist Plant Controller with quarterly and annual forecasting / budgeting process.
- Acts as a backup for Plant Controller when the Plant Controller is absent.
- Other duties may be assigned.
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance from a college or university. One year of related accounting experience and/or training is preferred.
- Basic experience with manufacturing accounting
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Intermediate experience with ERP or Accounting Software (e.g. JD Edwards)
- Basic experience with lean manufacturing
- Basic experience with financial analysis/business intelligence tools (e.g. Hyperion, Cognos)
- Intermediate experience with manufacturing accounting
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
- Basic experience with JD Edwards
- Basic database experience (e.g. Access)
