Position Summary:

Batesville is hiring an Operations Finance Manager located in Batesville, IN.  This position will work with the Director of Supply Chain Finance and Administration in a hands-on role in forecasting, summarizing, analyzing, and reporting Batesville Casket Company financial results and key financial metrics associated with the Batesville Casket operations organization.  This position will also support our credit and collections team from a supervisory status.  They will be responsible for driving objective setting and performance reviews

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Participate in the quarterly forecasting and annual planning and budgeting processes, providing the detailed financial metrics and analysis necessary to support business decisions of the Batesville Casket Company (BCC) operations organization.  This includes the consolidation and analysis of costs for all BCC plant locations and the operations administration group.  (15%)
  • Participate in analyzing the BCC operations month end financial results and related reporting.  This includes operations manufacturing costs and variances (variable and fixed), non-financial measures, and other key income statement variances. (30%)
  • Detailed analysis of financial results versus plan, forecast and prior year to gain understanding of variances. (10%)
  • Lead efforts to accurately set and maintain standard costs including analyzing year-over-year changes in cost, identifying large variances and providing root-cause analysis. (20%)
  • Reviews quarterly key controls for manufacturing sites.  Participates and leads on-site layered audits of controls and processes. (5%)
  • Supports the credit and collections team from a supervisory status.  Drives objective setting and performance reviews. (20%)
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct oversight and supervision of the Credit and collections team.

Skills/Experience:

Required skills /Experience

  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Skills /Experience

  • Advanced experience with Excel
  • Intermediate experience with ERP or Accounting systems (e.g. JD Edwards)
  • Basic experience with financial analysis/business intelligence tools (e.g. Hyperion, Cognos)
  • Basic experience with database/SQL utility tool (e.g. TOAD)
  • Basic database experience (e.g. Access)

Education:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Finance or Accounting; a minimum of five years related finance/accounting experience with two of those years in a manufacturing accounting environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  MBA, CPA, or CMA designation a plus.

Travel:

Employee must be able to travel 5% of the time.
