Position Summary:
 

The Financial Analyst Position in Vicksburg, MS performs financial analysis of operating results, participates in special projects within the Finance and Accounting area, and performs other ad hoc analysis as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Analyze financial results to gain an understanding into the performance of the business.
  • Analyze historical data to determine trends, providing insight and recommendations.
  • Assist with generation of the Financial Business Plan and revised forecasts for defined areas of the company.
  • Generate monthly variance analyses, reporting diagnostic measures for policy deployment.
  • Continually seek new methods and procedures to streamline and simplify month-end reporting processes.
  • Provide ad hoc reports as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.


Required Skills/Experience

  • Analytical/Problem Solving Skills
  • Basic experience with ERP or Accounting software (e.g. JD Edwards)
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic experience with financial analysis tools (e.g. Hyperion Reporting and Planning suite)
  • Basic experience with reporting tools (e.g. Cognos)
  • Basic experience with JD Edwards
 
Education:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Accounting or Finance; and 3-5 years related accounting/finance or business analytics experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in accounting/finance or business analytics.

 

Travel:
Travel is not required.
