As an Electrical Field Service Technician for Coperion, your career can have tremendous potential. You’ll represent Coperion’s expert service to our customers at their plant sites,   providing electrical  assistance, training and support, start-up, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Coperion equipment. Not only will your work directly contribute to our success but will also help you gain the skills and experience you need to grow into other positions and career paths within our company, including leadership roles. 


Responsibilities include:

  • Represent Coperion in the capacity of Service Representative providing assistance and advice to our customers for our Coperion extrusion equipment, including our twin screw extruders, , drive components, process sections, downstream equipment such as pelletizers and gear pump systems, and other associated equipment
  • Recommending parts and service to our customers
  • Assisting customers to start-up newly installed equipment and training customer personnel in a field or classroom setting
  • Writing reports, preparing field information packages, answering customer phone calls, and other tasks to support our field operations.

Job Requirements:

  • Familiarity with electrical system trouble shooting of both 3 phase electrical systems & low voltage power systems (control & signal)
  • Experience with installation & commissioning of small to large low voltage (480VAC) AC & DC drives
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC’s & RS Logix Suite (Logix 500 & 5000)
  • Experience with Wonderware,  Factory Talk, or Siemens PLC’s
  • Experience with temperature controllers & (PID) loops
  • Ability to read and interpret IEC standard electrical schematic and wiring drawings
  • Ability to read and interpret PI & D drawings and interlock logic drawings
  • Proficiency with Windows PC and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & Power Point)
  • Experience writing in depth technical reports
