Batesville is looking for an Essentials Lead to join our team in Kutztown, PA. This position will entail responsibility for the day-to-day operations and continual improvement of the Essentials department, product assembly, proper care and handling of inventory and following safe practices and standard work procedures at all times. More than 50% of the job responsibilities involve manual labor.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for championing the achievement of performance metrics, including hours per unit goal
  • Able to open and setup all productions requirements on a daily basis
  • Procure raw material as needed including associated electronic and administrative requirements
  • Schedule daily production
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operations and inventory efficiencies
  • Ensure adherence to governmental regulations (DOT, OSHA) and company policies and procedures
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve company performance
  • Maintain a clean work environment and all applicable equipment
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned
  • Other duties may be assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities, but does lead a team of 2 - 15 employees. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning and directing work; and working with management to address and resolve problems.

Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Work a flexible shift as needed
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Great to Haves:

  • Three years of Production Line experience
  • Forklift training with both sit down and standup lifts
